Location
Francesca Residence is part of a three-facility complex of the Daughters of Divine Charity. It is situated on two beautifully landscaped acres featuring a gazebo, bench seating and a walking path. Parking is available for residents and their guests who are always welcome. The dining room has two beautiful window views on each side.
Francesca Residence is easy to find. Our home is located on North Portage Path in Highland Square, a lovely suburb of Akron, Ohio. This convenient location offers easy access to shops, restaurants, banking facilities, drug stores, quality medical and dental care providers and facilities as well as the Metro bus line.
Natural Beauty
Come see this lovely two acre site! Marvel at the awesome beauty of trees and flowers in spring and summer. Our Residents can walk the grounds or enjoy the scenery from the comfort of their own room. We have taken great care to maintain the beauty of nature's gifts. Enjoy watching animal friends roaming among the trees and bushes. Watch for the northern cardinals, squirrels and neighbors walking their dogs. Nature inspires and elevates the soul.
Francesca Residence
Our residents live in Francesca Residence, named after our founder Mother Franziska Lechner, and are able to walk to the dining room without exiting the building.
No Stairs To Climb
We require all of our guests to be able to walk independently, with or without the aid of a walker or cane. However, all rooms have elevator access, no need to take any stairs. The chapel and the dining area are located on the first floor.
Beautiful Rooms
Peace and serenity await in our beautiful bedrooms. There are forty furnished private rooms with private bath as well as bedroom suites which provide appartment-style living. Surrounded by their own furnishings and tasteful decor, seniors enjoy both comfort and security. Suits have a balcony and some floors have a community balcony. Some suites and some double rooms also have kitchenettes.
Socializing
The Francesca Residence solarium is one of many beauty areas residents choose for reading or socializing.
Library
The Library is well-stocked and well-organized. All residents are welcome to make full use of the library at any time. The resident lounge is available to watch movies and TV shows or just have a snack.
Come Visit
Family and friends are always welcome Come on over and join us for a meal or for a tour. You can even come to our Sunday mass and check out the cozy atmosphere of our very private chapel. We are blessed to have Father Kraker say mass right in our own chapel. We love to listen to his thought provoking homilies and give us his special motivational lessons.
Go For A Walk
Our grounds are breathtaking in the spring. There is a wide variety of trees and plants which always provide a serene, back-to-nature walk. Residents and family members can take long or short walks around the facilities and enjoy the comfort and privacy that is only possible in our kind of lifestyle.
Tours Provided
We love to show off our facilities and our staff. Visitors can be shown the grounds, the guest quarters, the dining facility and our lovely little chapel. We urge you to call (330-867-4960) to make an appointment for a tour. We look forward to providing a guided tour of our home
